(WGHP) — The snow may have stopped falling but there’s plenty of it on the ground across the Piedmont Triad this morning. Snowfall totals range from 5″ to 16″ depending on your location. Hazardous travel is expected throughout the remainder of the weekend due to snow covered roads.
The snow is falling and sticking to roadways across the Triad, so drivers should be cautious if they have to be on the road on Saturday. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, troopers received 216 calls for service and responded to 176 collisions across the state between midnight and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office (NHCSO) is searching for a missing 16-year-old girl who was last seen Monday in the 2100 block of Winter Moss Lane. Duke Energy is asking customers in the Carolinas to voluntarily reduce their energy use from 4-10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.
