Hundreds of UC Berkeley students and community members participated Friday in a National Day of Action protesting U.S.

Organizers are planning a second “day of action" Friday to protest ongoing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Minnesota and across the country. The Bay Area is participating, too.

In partnership with ASUC Senator Ana Maria Abnusy’s Office, the Iranian Students Cultural Organization organized the demonstration, bringing light to the ongoing unrest occurring in Iran.

At least one witness recorded the group and told police some of its members had hammers, according to radio traffic reviewed by TBS.

Just because it’s not happening to you doesn’t mean you’re supposed to sit back and watch everything unfold,” one student said after walking out of school.
